Rock n Surf Angling
Because the yearly angling program is so intense & busy, dates are plotted for Rock & Surf events, but with a difference and to create a positive result and an edge of competitiveness for each outing.
THIS IS HOW IT WORKS:
COMPETITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Species Competition
When the program reads “Species” then the list provided will help the anglers to at least receive points for an effort made. Even if the specie caught is “under-size” the fish caught can be marked as specie caught, giving you points for the fish, but not for weight if the fish does not qualify according to legislation. The fish is still weighed and recorded if it meets all the requirements, length & legislation.
The Presidents Cup
There is one event on the calendar known as the “PRESIDENTS CUP” that allows you to weigh and record ALL the Fish & Sharks caught, no matter what the size of the catch is. This tradition comes from the 1950's when the Presidents Cup Trophy was introduced to the club.
Qualifications and Measurements:
Edible fish must have a qualification weight of 500grams, but must also meet all the legal legislation requirements. Only then can the weight be recorded on the Catch Card.
Sharks & Rays must have a qualification weight of 2kg’s, Only then can the weight be recorded on the Catch Card.

Open competitions gives you the option to fish anywhere along the COAST, from North of Struisbaai to Velddrift (West Coast).
