The History of Cape Town Angling Club
Cape Town Angling Club was founded in 1937 as a Rock n Surf Angling Club, where Rock n Surf was the only active facet available.
It was only in the early seventies that Freshwater Bank angling and later Light Tackle Boat angling became popular. As time has progressed the freshwater bank angling facet has boomed to become the main attraction of the Cape Town Angling Club where individuals in the Freshwater and LTB facets compete both locally and internationally. Feederangling was only introduced to CTAC in 2014, but is quickly gaining interest amongst the anglers.
To remain true to our roots, CTAC places a great emphasis on honoring CTAC's foundation through encouraging a very active social Rock n Surf division.
