FW - The Miggie Challenge
3 June 2015
This years Miggie Challenge was a great success with tons of fun had by all.
The Miggie Challenge is a charity event held in honor of Stefan King and aims to help those suffering with Cystic Fibrosis. This year CTAC helped Andries van der Merwe from Boland Angling Club and we managed to raise R17 000 that went towards Andries.
Anglers embraced the spirit of fun and dressed up as fairies, hobos, disney characters and even convicts. Lots of rules were broken and a number of fish were stolen, some anglers even landing in the water in the process.
The weather was perfect and fun was had by all. Thank you to all of the anglers who supported this years Miggie Challenge and we hope to see you all next year.

FW - Theewaters pegged series 2
3 June 2015
This weekends competition was an experimental competition running from saturday afternoon till late saturday evening. Although it was cold, the weather played along nicely for this time of the year.
With 27 Anglers we managed to pull out a total of 77 fish weighing in at 31Kgs. Apart from the general cold, the weather seemed to play along and the wind behaved itself during fishing hours, only picking up late in the evening once the competition was over.
Bernie was the overall winner of the competition. While the rest of the anglers around him thought he was sleeping, Bernie was filling his keepnet silently in the darkness weighing in 21 fish with a total of 11.016kgs.

R&S - Breakwater Cup
20 - 21 June2015
The breakwater cup had a great turn out this weekend with anglers fishing from Hermanus Harbor right through to Gordonsbay Harbor and Kalkbay Harbor.
The fishing in Gordons bay was quiet with a odd fish caught here and there until Malcolm got stuck into a a whole school of Hotties.
On the other side in Kalkbay Russel was into the fish from the start bagging the most fish and claiming overall Breakwater cup champion.

FW - CTAC President League results
2015
After a very important last league, the CTAC Presidents team narrowly dropped out of the ranking to finish in 4th place.
The Presidents team had a number of individuals who shone thought the season. A huge congratulations to Christo who finished in 5th place and Andre who finished 9th. Well done to Ina who claimed a silver medal in the ladies division and Kalin for receiving the bronze.
It was a tough year with very strong competition. Thank you to all those who were behind the CTAC team, those who were runners at the competitions and those who were behind the scenes with all the planning and preperation. And a BIG thank you to the rest of the CTAC family for all the support and encouragement when the fish just weren't biting.








FW - CTAC Premier League results
2015
This years CTAC Premier team was nothing less than a dream team, taking the position as Western Province champions by a long run.
A very big congratulations to Gareth on being the overall champion in WP.
Gareth was chased the entire league series by Johann vn who secure a 3rd place with Russel finishing in 7th position.
1st place: CTAC with 207 points and 157 fish caught over 4 leagues.
2nd place: Boland with 187 points and 127 fish caught over 4 leagues.
FW - CTAC Chairmans League results
2015
The CTAC chairmans A and B teams were focused on being development teams where new club anglers were introduced to the league system.
After rotating peg patners to find the perfect team combos, the CTAC A team found their rythem in the middle of the league series and managed to finished in the middle of all the League teams. Well done to Ben who was the top achiever in the CTAC A Team.
The CTAC B team beat Defense to be crowned WP Champions of the Chairmans B division. In the B division we had two shining stars that stood out from the rest. Well done to Morne who took 1st position, followed narrowly by Andries who claimed 2nd.
FW - Pegged Series 1: Paarl Dam

The weekends competition proved to be nothing less than a good day out at the dam. What started out as a chilly morning turned into a beautiful day with lots of fun and laughter and some serious fishing in between.

A big congratulations to our winners.
Bernardt snr won the competition with 62 fish weighing in at 45.381kgs.
Derek weighed the heaviest bag of 57.380kgs
Die vangs van die dag was ongetyfeled Morne se record baber van 13.778 kg
R&S - Corinations Cup
25 - 27 April 2015
The 2015 Rock and Surf Coronations Cup was held from the 25th - 27th April and proved to be a tough weekend of fishing. Classified as a 'going away weekend,' this competition was an open area competition where anglers braved the conditions to try their luck in the big blue.
Johan, Steven, Gareth, Richard and Laruschka fished Gansbaai side and between the 5 anglers only managed to catch 2 x Weighable fish – Well done Johann on the two Pajama Sharks that you caught.
Some of the locals who caught through the night managed to catch the odd size Shad and Wit Steenbras – see the old saying is still true the early bird catches the worm was spot on this weekend. However the fish saw us coming and decided to wait till after dark to start biting.
The results:
Well done Russel for taking first place this weekend with 11 fish and a mixed bag of sand shark and eagle ray caught weighing in 28kg in total. Johann was second with two fish weighing in at 8.4kg in total and the heaviest catch of the weekend.
FW - Overnight - Theewaterskloof
28 - 29 March 2015
The last overnight competition was embraced by many anglers as they jumped at the opportunity to fish Theewaterskloof dam, a first for many. What started out as a very slow day competition with only one or two fish being pulled out here and there, the rise of the night brought with it plenty fish for all, raising the spirits and the competition.
Leonard was the overall winner with a total of 57 fish caught weighing in at 19.916kgs.
Steven pulled in the smallest fish of the weekend weighing a total of 505 grams, while Xander showed everyone how it is done by pulling in the biggest fish of the competition, a 2. 056kg carp.
Between 29 anglers a total of 1200 fish were caught with a overall mass of 613kgs.
R&S - Gordon Shield
13 - 15 March 2015
The weekend had some interesting developments and a lot of different fish species were caught from Struisbaai – Veldrift from Sandsharks, Gully Sharks, Cat sharks, Eagle Rays, Barbel, Mackerel, Elf, Kabeljou, Smouthound, Galjoen and even Starfish were caught and weighed – Better luck next time Kalin at least you are the reigning Crab and Starfish Queen hahaha.
Monster Baits were thrown out for those big sharks but they decided this was not the time to be caught – better luck next time boys.
Malcolm reported the first nice shark and caught a smoothound weighing in at 4.10kg, not to be outdone, Richard took on the challenge and weighed in a nice Spotted Gully Shark at 17,40kg.
However Russell the mysterious man came back and hit the ball totally out of the ball park weighing in not one but two Eagle Rays the first weighing in at 15.59kg and the second at 26.29kg.
Well done Russel for being the winner of the 1st Leg of the Gordon Shield – Congratulations on a well deserved win.
FW - Overnight - Voorberg
7 - 8 March 2015
The weekends fishing at Voorberg proved to be the perfect weekend for an overnighter with nice warm weather and not a breath of wind. We had a full moon and the fishing was very spotty with lots of undersize fish coming out on some pegs and some nice big monsters caught on others.
All in all it was a good weekend away where laughs and jokes could be heard the whole night through.
Well done to Juandre for catching his record Kurper.
Ina took the weekends competition with a total of 58 fish weighing in at 83.158 kgs.
Bernardt snr however pulled in the most fish weighing 74 fish with a total of 48.961 kgs.
R&S - West Trophy
13 - 15 Feb 2015
Well done Russel for winning the first R& Surf Competition for the year – we have our work cut out to chase you down this year hahaha.
A big congratulations to Hans on logging the biggest edible catch for this year so far with nice 6kg Carrick caught in Strand on Friday night.
Well done to Johann DP for catching a nice 5.23kg Pajama Shark.
FW - Overnight - Voelvlei
25 - 26 Jan 2015
CTAC's first overnight competition was held at Voelvlei dam. Although Voelvlei is known for its very windy conditions, the weather played along nicely and surprised us with a nice hot weekend with only a light breeze.
A total of 502 fish were caught over the weekend with a total mass of 253.4 kgs.
The overall winner for the first overnighter was Bernie jnr with a total of 82 fish weighing in at a total of 36.292 kgs.
Xander was the man of the weekend catching a CTAC Junior record barbel of 11.503 kgs.
